Obituary

Hattie Minnie Jane Harmon Crotts, daughter of the late Lee Hayden Harmon and Claire Merle Conyers Harmon, was born June 16, 1936 in Melbourne, Arkansas. She departed this life August 30, 2018 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 14 days. She was united in marriage to Thurman Crotts June 16, 1956 in Monticello, Illinois and together they raised four daughters. Minnie spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend.She lived her life to the fullest, overcoming every obstacle . She was the type of person who never met a stranger. Minnie was a hard worker. During her working years she excelled at numerous occupations. While living in California, she managed several different business, including a grocery store. After moving back to Arkansas, she was employed by the White River Shirt Company and NADC. When she and Thurman retired, they traveled through out the United States and Canada. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Belview Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years: Thurman Crotts; four daughters: Debra Blankenship of Batesville, Arkansas, Vickey Gillihan and husband Roger of Melbourne, Arkansas, Jackie Murphy and husband Michael of Hogeye, Arkansas and Jessie Cargill of Lowell, Arkansas; one brother David Harmon and wife Sandy of Jonesboro, three sisters: Opal Stroud of Melbourne, Shirley Stroud and husband Harold of Melbourne and Gladys Eisenbraun and husband Alvin of Marysville, Washington; grandchildren: Christopher Blankenship and wife Kimberly, Chad Blandenship, Cynthia Blankenship, Tyler Koestner and wife Kayla, Danny and Jessica Murphy, Roy and Erica Murphy, Michael Voyles, Joseph Cargill, Matthew Cargill and Johnny Nelson; one great grandson: Alton Koestner; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: J. B Harmon, J. C Harmon, Charles Harmon; one sister: Lydia Hutchins and one son-in-law: Allen Blankenship.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 1 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Funeral service will be Sunday, September 2 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Belview Baptist Church in Melbourne with Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial will be at Combs Cemetery.
