Michael Gene Richardson

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Michael Gene Richardson, son of the late Jimmy Ray Richardson and Ann Bell Hamby, was born October 8, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri.  He departed this life February 10, 2023 at his home in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 60 years, 5 months and 2 days.  Michael spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, uncle, father, grandfather, provider and friend.  Mike worked as a lineman, mostly in the northeastern states.  His work required him to climb towers to extreme heights, which filled him with a mixture of awe, fear and enjoyment. He was also a skilled professional painter who took pride in the quality of his work.  After retirement he enjoyed hunting, fishing and making improvements to his land. He was an avid classic car enthusiast and considered himself an expert at classic rock trivia.  Mike was a baptized member of Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife Shelly Richardson of the home; one sister:  Debbie Kundert of Kansas City, Missouri; one niece:  Jamie Alper and husband Jason and their sons:  Nathal Alper and Cameron Alper all of Arizona; one daughter:  Brianna Lee Richardson; two stepchildren;:  Kevin Helm and Ashley Helm; four step grandchildren:  Kobe Bruyette, Riley Helm, Layla Helm and Liam Helm and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents:  Floyd and Audie Richardson and Tom and Lottie Hankins; and his stepfather:  William Q. Hamby.

Graveside funeral service will be Wednesday, February 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Reeves Cemetery in Melbourne with Dale Ivy officiating under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
