Michael Jon Chapman

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Michael Jon Chapman, 81, of Calico Rock, Arkansas passed away August 18, 2023 after a long illness.  Michael was born September 13, 1941 to Clarence and Bonnie LaVonna Bobb Chapman in Echo, Minnesota.  He was a graduate of Echo High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army.  He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and received an honorable discharge after proudly serving three years in service.  After his military service, Michael went to work for his father in construction.  After selling the business, Michael worked in many different businesses until 1967, when he went to work for Robert Heath Trucking in Lubbock, Texas, retiring after 25 years of employment. In 1999 Micheal met Kathy J. Gowing and they married September 13, 2003 in Lubbock, Texas.  In 2017 They retired and moved to Calico Rock.  Michael was a Veteran who served his country proudly and loved the country way of life. He loved old cars and his animals.  He was a patient husband who helped Kathy in her gardens.  Mike was loved by many in the community.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years:  Kathy Chapman of the home; four sons:  Eric Chapman of  Oklahoma, Chris Chapman and wife Samantha of Dallas, Texas, Trevor Chapman of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jason Chapman of Texas, Ryan Chapman of California and Nate Chapman and wife Angie of Minnesota; two step daughters:  Sarah Dines and Kimberly Mann; two brothers:  Franke chapman and Raina of Florida, Bob Chapman and Carol of Arizona; two sisters:  Roberta Lee of South Dakota and Val Anhus of Minnesota; 23 grandchildren:  Remi Chapman, Leighton Chapman, Tommie Quintero, Kyson (Faith)  Chapman, Jason Chapman, Jr., Austin Chapman, Ares Chapman, Athena Chapman, Aryaden Chapman, Arya Chapman, Terrence, Luper, Jaela Lluper, Jaz`dn Luper, Damari Luper, Saniyah Luper, Khaza Luper, 4 great grandchildren:  Felix, Carter, Hunter, Henry and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister:  Shirley Lempke; one brother:  Dennis Chapman; one sister-in-law:  Carol Chapman.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life Gathering September 9, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Table Rock Community Center located at Table Rock Cemetery.
