Melvola (Lockhart) VanVoast

of Dolph, Arkansas

Melvola Lockhart Van Voast, daughter of the late Lonnieand Mary Ella Bohanan Lockhart, was born February 1, 1927 in Georgetown, Texas. She departed this life February 7, 2019 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 92 years and 6 days. Melvola spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend. After graduating from Georgetown High School, she attended school to learn how to operate international business machines; currently known as IBM. She finished her career as an Executive Secretary to the Regional Manager of American Express. She was united in marriage to Emmitt Williamson in 1947 and to this union one son was born. In 1976 she married Claude Van Voast in Dallas, Texas. In 2004 she relocated from Texas to Dolph, Arkansas. she attended St. Patricks Episcopal Church in Dallas, then later after she relocated to Dolph, she attended Rodney Cumberland Presbyterian Church.She is survived by one son: Dave Williamson and wife Sandra of Dolph; one stepson: Bob Van Voast and wife Barbara of Crockett, Texas; one brother: Ronald Lockhart and wife Debbie of Ft. Worth, Texas; two grandchildren: Michael Williamson (Kimberly) of Calico Rock and Matthew Van Voast of Texas; one great grandson: Riley Williamson and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands and one brother; Roger Lockhart and one nephew: Alan Lockhart.

Memorial service will be Sunday, February 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Rodney Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
