Maynard Leonard Avery
of Pineville, Arkansas
Maynard Leonard Avery, son of the late Leon Avery and Bernice Tavernia Avery, was born December 31, 1938 in Malone, New York, he departed this life June 13, 2026 in Pineville, Arkansas at the age of 87. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He proudly served twenty-two years as a master electrician before retiring. He went on to work at Gen Corp in Batesville as a master electrician, retiring after twenty-five years of employment. He was united in marriage to Lula Gardner Avery in 1964 and together they raised two daughters. He was a member of the North Central Arkansas Fleet Reserve Association in Mountain Home.
Maynard is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Michelle Klein and husband Ron of Pineville; two brothers: Hollis Avery, Andy Avery and wife Joan all of Malone, New York; one sister: Carol Avery of Malone, New York; four granddaughters: Jennifer Brown (John), Julie Cherisier (Rudy) all of Chesapeake, Virginia, Samantha Broughton of Sikeston, Missouri, Emma Haggins (T J) of Newport; five great grandchildren: Jordan Brown, Jillian Brown, Falynn Broughton, Stratton Haggins, Truett Haggins; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and one daughter: Donna Dufresne.
His family will be having a private memorial service at a later date.
Cremation arrangements by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
