Mary Sue Rush Floyd
of Melbourne, Arkansas
Mary Sue Rush Floyd, daughter of the late Louis A. Rush and Nora Fay King Rush, was born June 9, 1944 in Melbourne, Arkansas. She departed this life August 19, 2026 at her home in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 82. Mary Sue was a 1962 graduate of Melbourne High School. She went on to become an x-ray technician and phlebotomist, working many years in Dr. Tatum’s office. She enjoyed gardening, although it was difficult to keep the deer out of her flowers. She loved the spring and summer when the humming birds were out. Thanksgiving and Christmas were her most favorite times of the year because of the family gatherings and getting fresh deer meat. She loved to gamble and buy “her scratchies”. She was a collector of glassware; she loved antique shopping and haggling for the best deal and finding that one piece she didn’t have in her collection. Yard saling was a good second place in her heart or just shopping period. She was united in marriage to Deanie Ray Floyd November 19, 2005. She was loved and will be missed.
Mary Sue is survived by her husband: Deanie Ray Floyd of the home; one son: Dennis Bookouot and wife Gina of Glencoe; two stepsons: Dion Floyd and wife Carla of Rogers, Daniel Floyd of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one brother: Wayne Rush of Melbourne; three sisters: Wanda Hollowell of LaCrosse, Donna Richardson (Michael Miller), Janett Miller and husband David all of Melbourne; one granddaughter: April Dawn Robertson and husband Billy of Judsonia; three step grandchildren: Sawyer Floyd and wife Erin, Makalie Floyd, Nick Ivey and Natasha Leisemring; one step great grandchild: Josephine Floyd; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Ann Sizemore and Rita Powell.
Visitation and funeral service will be Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will begin at 11:00. Funeral service, with Doyne Robertson officiating, will begin at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Combs Cemetery.
