Mary Lee Estes Hardaway

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

Mary Lee Estes Hardaway, daughter of the late Charles Harrison Estes and Mary Marjorie Smithson Estes, was born April 29, 1943 in Bandmill, Arkansas.  She departed this life May 15, 2022 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 79 years and 17 days.  She was united in marriage to Norman Hardaway May 29, 1964 and together they raised a daughter and son.  Mary spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, Mimi, homemaker and friend.  Mary and Norman spent many years operating a Sears store in Melbourne.  Most of her working years were spent working at the Department of Human Services in Melbourne, retiring after 12 years of employment. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters.  She was of the Methodist faith and a long-time member of Melbourne United Methodist Church.

Mary is survived by two children:  Kim Kieffner and husband Bryan of Melbourne and Kevin Hardaway and wife Angie of Bandmill; one sister:  Ruth Lamb and husband Charlie of Melbourne; one brother:  Randy Estes and wife Robbie of Melbourne; two grandchildren:  Haley Jo Hardaway and Danielle Lee Hardaway and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Graveside funeral service will be Wednesday, May 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Roberts Cemetery in Franklin with Bill Grothe officiating.

Pallbearers:  Doyle McCollum, Wayne Hopper, Eric Sitton, Matt Pitts, Mitch Gillihan and Mark Herrington.
