Obituary

Mary Sue Johnson Grissom, daughter of the late Cecil Flynn and Myrle Moser Johnson, was born August 31, 1942 in Gid, Arkansas. She departed this life June 6, 2019 at her home in Sage, Arkansas at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 6 days. She was united in marriage April 28, 1961 to Charles Grissom and together they raised two daughters. Mary spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. During her working years, she was employed by Con Agra, retiring after 15 years of employment. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, drinking coffee on the porch and shopping. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mary is survived by her husband of 58 years: Charles Grissom of the home; two daughters: Kimberley Phillips and husband Dwayne of Violet Hill and Shanna Grissom of Batesville; one brother: Doyle Johnson of Everett, Washington; three grandchildren: Miriah McDonald and husband Brian of Horseshoe Bend, Daniel Phillips and wife Heather of Cleburne, Texas and Whitney Phillips of Melbourne; three great grandchildren: Aiden Overbey, Daxton Phillips and Thaine Widemon and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Cecil Johnson, three sisters: Debbie Johnson, Donna Beattiger and Wilma Johnson Vance.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
