Obituary

Mary Sue Estes was born on November 29, 1936, in Melbourne, Arkansas to Robert Dale and Goldie Marie Estes.

She grew up in a close-knit community. Mary Sue was outgoing and participated in many clubs in High School as well as Beauty Pageants. She was the Editor of her high school newspaper, Majorette for the Marching Band, and the Salutatorian in her graduating class. She was crowned The Batesville Bathing Beauty in 1955. After graduation she worked at WHBQ Radio in Memphis, Tennessee as a copywriter. During her years at the radio station, she met several recording artists that were very memorable such as Elvis Presley and Johnnie Cash. In 1962 she married and had three children, Michael, Mary Beth and Kevin. She moved to Florida after having Michael. She worked for and retired from The Social Security Administration after many years of Loyal Service. Mary Sue returned to Melbourne after she retired to help take care of her mother. She spent many years enjoying again the company of her friends and family. As the years passed though it was time for her to move back to Florida to be closer to her children. Mary Sue loved being close to her children. She would rejoice in their triumphs and uplift them in sorrow. She was a great friend, and wonderful Mother, Mother-in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Mary Sue was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother R.J.

Mary Sue leaves behind to cherish her memory her oldest son, Michael Rittenhouse; daughter, Mary Beth VanDeMoortel and husband Phil; youngest son, Kevin Rittenhouse and wife Sara; grandchildren, Dylan, Josie, Rebekah, Colin, Andrew, and Jessica; great grandchildren Sophia, and Elizabeth; loving family and friends.

Our mother was greatly loved by her family and will be deeply missed.
