Melba Marlene Stroud Hutchins

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

Melba Marlene Stroud Hutchins, daughter of the late John Thomas Stroud and Tressie Mae Conyers Stroud, was born November 29, 1955 in Newport, Arkansas.  She departed this life September 16, 2023 at her home in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 19 days. Marlene attended Melbourne High School and graduated with an Associates Degree in Business from Ozarka College. She went on to work in the office at Ozarka College, Boeing and Century Flooring.  She owned and operated Hang Ups Frame Shop in Batesville for many years.  She was united in marriage to Arnnie Gerald Hutchins April 19, 1971 and together they raised two children.  Marlene spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Marlene is survived by her husband of 52 years:  Arnnie Hutchins of the home; one son:  Jessie Hutchins and wife Felisha of Sandtown; one daughter:  Brandy Moore of Cave City; two sisters:  Deloris Brown of Sage and Darlene Sartin of Melbourne; eight grandchildren:  Chase (Allison) Hutchins, Haven Hope Hutchins, Bentley Hutchins, Kailey Lyons, Keiton Lyons, Ashley (Andrew) Creekmore and Hailey (Jaegar) Sullins; four great grandchildren:  Levi Creekmore, Hannah Creekmore, Willow Hutchins, Nova Henderson and great grandbaby number five, Baby Sullins, is on the way; two brothers-in-law:  Dean (Lillian) Hutchins  and Lonnie (Bonnie) Hutchins of Violet Hill; one sister-in-law:  Jody Dale of Bonetown; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister:  Connie Townsend; three brothers-in-law:  Michael Dale, John Brown and Larry Sartin and her father and mother-in-law:  Bob and Lydia Hutchins.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 19 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.  Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Doyne Robertson officiating.  Burial will be at Caney Springs Cemetery.
