Marion Lee Farris Skidmore

Of Jordan, Arkansas

Marion Lee Farris Skidmore, daughter of the late William Abraham Farris and Gladys Frances Hurley Farris, was born September 21, 1943 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.  She departed this life July 28, 2024 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 7 days.  After graduating high school, Marion went on to attend business school in Little Rock.  She was united in marriage to Robert Dale Skidmore January 29, 1961 in Norfork, Arkansas and together they raised one son. Marion spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend.   She owned and operated the Jordan Store for many years.  After selling the store, she worked two jobs, during the day she worked at Norfork Head Start and at night she worked at Eastside Market in Mountain Home.  She attended Rodney Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Marion is survived by one son:  Jerry Skidmore and wife Kim of Dolph; one brother:  Harold Farris and wife Linda of Mountain Home; one sister:  Florene Kellum of Mountain Home; three grandchildren:  Miranda Worthey, Alexander Robert Skidmore (Kelly) and Savannah Jera Skidmore (Karl Roesler, fiancé); three great grandchildren:  Lawson Troy Worthey, Scarlett Blue Stowers, Scotlyn Jera Skidmore; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters:  Marie Mings, Helen Deloris Farris and Erma Farrier and two brothers:  Roy Farris and Ralph Farris.

Visitation and funeral service will be Friday, August 2 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.  Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m.   Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Chris Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow at Dolph Baptist Cemetery.
