Madeline Carol Campbell Sipe
of Melbourne, Arkansas
Madeline Carol Campbell Sipe, daughter of the late Joe and Mary Gattis Campbell, was born August 21, 1943 in Batesville, Arkansas. She went to her heavenly reward January 21, 2022 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 78 years and 5 months. She was united in marriage to Douglas Sipe August 5, 1966 and together they raised one son. She spent her life as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. Madeline was a graduate of Melbourne High School and Harding University. She spent 34 years as a social worker and Izard County Department of Human Services Administrator. After retirement, she made many wonderful memories with her grandchildren, participated in Angel Tree donations during the holidays, was a volunteer poll worker for the Izard County Election Commission and served on the board of directors at Combs Cemetery. She also found time to travel with her friends on chartered bus tours arranged through the Izard County Senior Citizens Center. She was dedicated to God, her family and her community. She was an active member of the Melbourne Church of Christ.
Madeline is survived by her husband of 55 years: Doug Sipe of the home; one son and daughter-in-law: Brad and Laura Sipe of Melbourne; five grandchildren: Savannah Daigle and husband Joshua of Searcy; Mary Hannah Bryant and husband Mills of Fayetteville; Lydia Sipe of Melbourne; Jay Chaney of Melbourne and Jared Chaney of Russellville; one great granddaughter: Robyn Daigle of Searcy and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation and graveside funeral service will be Sunday, January 23 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Graveside funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Combs Cemetery in Melbourne.
