Loye Dean Lawrence

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

Loye Dean Lawrence, son of the late Rex Lawrence and Effie Cheatham Lawrence, was born October 3, 1941 in Melbourne, Arkansas. He departed this life May 18, 2020 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 15 days. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, uncle, great uncle, companion and friend. After high school, Loye enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Europe.  The Air Force gave him the opportunity to travel all over Europe.  After serving four years, he received an honorable discharge and returned home.  He went on to attend Arkansas State University and graduate with a Philosophy Degree.  Loye was a man of many interests.  He was an artist, an antique collector, gardener and carpenter.  He was a philosopher and an avid reader who enjoyed politics and history.

Loye is survived by two nieces:  Kitty Marsyla and husband Arlen of Melbourne and Penny Price and husband Russ all of Melbourne; four great nieces:  Sadie Jenkins (Jesse) of Cabot, Misty Brown (Michael) Melbourne, Maggie Lawrence (Dustin Heiskell) of Melbourne, LeaAnn George of Mountain Home; one great nephew: Alec Price of Melbourne and a host of other relatives, companions and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers:  Jimmie Lawrence, Bob Lawrence and T. D. Lawrence; one sister:  Sadie Mae Lawrence and three nephews:  Rocky Lawrence, Dennis Lawrence and Doug Lawrence.

Graveside funeral service will be Thursday, May 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Lawrence Cemetery with Doyne Robertson officiating.

Pallbearers:  Ronald Cheatham, Donald Cheatham, Lonnie Cheatham, Arlen Marsyla, Russ Price and Alec Price.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Gery Lawrence, Bobby Joe Lawrence, Dan Lindsey and Larry Ehrke.
