Lowell Thomas Miller
Of Calico Rock, Arkansas
Lowell Thomas Miller, son of the late Wade Miller and Virgie Watson Miller, was born April 21, 1935 in Boswell, Arkansas. He departed this life January 6, 2024 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 88 years, 8 months and 16 days. After working for Boeing Aircraft for a short time, Lowell enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage to Joan Morris June 21, 1958 in Robinson, Newfoundland and together they raised a daughter and a son. He retired with the rank of Technical Sergeant, after twenty years in active service and went on to serve ten years in the reserves. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Calico Rock Baptist Church.
Lowell is survived by one son: Michael T. Miller and wife Heidi of Jonesboro; one daughter: Catherine Wray and husband James of Calico Rock; one sister: Doris Markle and husband Jerry of Lead Hill; five grandchildren: Jessica (Justin) Teague, Dusty (Randi) Wray, Blake (Justine) Miller, Kandis (Dalton) McIllwain and Logan Stewart; ten great grandchildren: Arysta Teague, Brettley Teague, Logan Norton, Jayden Wray, Charolette Wray, Ezra Wray, Blythe Miller, Lynlee Miller, Krew McIllwain, Kross McIllwain and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Joan Morris Miller; two brothers: Junius "June" Miller and Norman Miller; two sisters: Nadine Bogle and Naomi Albritton and one great great grandson Barrett Michael Miller.
Visitation and funeral service will be Saturday, January 13 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Kevin Bishop officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Dalton McIllwain, Scott Dewey, Allen Miller, Justin Teague, Blake Miller, Rick Thomas.
Honorary Pallbearers: Dusty Wray, Logan Stewart, Jeff Markle, Jim Wray and Donald Stevens.
