Louise Gwendolyn Hellums Melton

Of Brockwell, Arkansas

Louise Gwendolyn Hellums Melton, daughter of the late Troy Hellums and Melba Rae Owens Hellums, was born October 21, 1945 in Yakima, Washington.  She departed this life January 30, 2022 in Calcio Rock, Arkansas at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 9 days.  She was united in marriage to Graden Melton in 1965 and together they raised two children.  Louise spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend.  Much of her working years were spent at Tyson Foods and in the culinary arts profession. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Melbourne First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years: Graden Melton of the home; one son:  Roger Melton of Siloam Springs; one daughter and son-in-law:  Sandra and Harold Dayton of Bismark; one sister:  Bonnie Reynolds of Salem; three brothers:  Steven Hellums and wife Ann of Kansas City, Missouri, Leon Hellums and wife Bertha of Melbourne and Rick Hellums and wife Teresa of Salem; five grandchildren: Nicole Lemmon, Michael Lemmon and Christopher Dayton, Daniel (Jessica) Boswell of Benton and Valerie (Eric) Sorrell of Bismarck; seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers:  James Hellums and Albert Hellums and one daughter in law, Shari Lane Melton.

Visitation and funeral service will be held Friday, February 4 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.   Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will be at Combs Cemetery.
