Lloyd E. Parker, Jr.

Of Dardanelle, Arkansas

Formerly of Melbourne, Arkansas

Lloyd E. Parker, Jr., son of the late Lloyd and Genevieve (Lawrence) Parker, was born November 30, 1947 in Little Rock, Arkansas.  He passed away in Dardanelle, Arkansas September, 6, 2025, due to complications of back surgery, at the age of 77.  Junior, as he was called, was a 1965 graduate of Melbourne High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was sent directly to Vietnam, serving from 1966 to 1967, where he made lifelong friends.  After his Honorable Discharge, Junior went on to attend Arkansas State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.  He was united in marriage to Peggy June Frazier March 27, 1971 and together they raised one daughter and a son. Upon graduation from Arkansas State University, Junior worked at Conagra Foods, retiring after many years of employment. Junior was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying time fishing and hunting with family and friends.  His son, Lanny, followed in his footsteps by joining the Marine Corps and retiring after many years of service.  Junior and Lanny loved to attend Marine Corps Reunions together.  Junior's lifelong Marine Corps friends and their children came to be a part of his family. They made the trip to Arkansas to hunt with him every year. His daughter, Gina and her children, kept him on his toes. He was involved with all of their activities. He was a loving Papa to all of his grandchildren, near and far, their successes made him a proud Papa.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Peggy Parker of the home; one son:  Lanny Brock Parker and wife Melaina of Chesapeake, Virginia; one daughter:  Gina Pawlicki and husband, Jon of Russellville; eight grandchildren: Andy Parker, Alyssa (Parker) Denna, Joseph Parker, Sadie (Saul) Turner, Jada Saul, Karley Saul, Journey Saul, Keira Kensas; one great grandson: Leo Denna; numerous Marine Corps friends and a host of other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents: Lloyd and Gennie Parker; stepmother:  Virginia Parker; two grandsons:  Mason Parker Saul and Seth Jordan Saul.

Visitation and funeral service will be Friday, September 12 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.  Funeral service, with Brad Hall officiating, will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Melbourne Cemetery.
