Linda Kay Matthews Morgan

Linda Kay Matthews Morgan, loving wife, mother and nurse for many years left this world Monday November 27, 2023 at 1:28 pm.  Linda was born August 12, 1954 in Melbourne, Arkansas to Dolores Carter Robertson and Burlin Max Matthews.  Linda grew up in West Memphis, Arkansas and earned her degree in nursing from Memphis State and continued until she took master's degree in education. After a successful career in Memphis as a registered nurse and teacher, Linda moved back to her roots in Izard County to teach future nurses at what was then known as Ozarka Technical College in Melbourne.  It was here she met her husband of 33 years Jerry Morgan.

Linda later became Vice President of Academic Affairs at what was then Ozarka College. After a brief retirement to pursue other interests, she went back to nursing, which was always her lifelong passion.  She ended her career as a charge nurse with White River Area Agency on Aging.

After a long battle with health issues, she peacefully passed in Batesville.  She leaves behind her living husband, Jerry Morgan, sons Nick of Melbourne and Jeff (Stephanie) of Las Vegas NV, sister Dana Dillard (Mike) of Calico Rock, two nieces and one nephew, April Herrington (Chris) of College Grove, TN, Reed Hamby (Violet) of Melbourne, Sarah Hamby of Little Rock, Arkansas, four grandchildren and five great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father, mother and sister, Brenda Matthews Nail.

She touched so many lives with her careers and truly lived her passions.  She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and her community.

All friends and family are welcome at visitation and funeral.

Visitation and funeral service will be Friday, December 1 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.  Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m.   Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Spring Creek Cemetery.
