Lester Franklin "Bud" Jared

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Lester Franklin "Bud" Jared, son of the late Lester Joseph Jared and Willie Delphia Boatman Jared, was born March 20, 1944 in Compton, California.  He departed this life July 13, 2021 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 23 days.  Bud spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, provider and friend.  After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.  While serving four years he worked as a caterpillar mechanic and rose to the rank of Lance Corporal before receiving an Honorable Discharge . Most of his working years were spent repairing motors and almost anything mechanical.  He was also a skilled wood worker.

Bud leaves to mourn his passing; his soulmate:  Bobbie Davis of Wideman; two daughters:  Gina R. Stetka of Calico Rock and Lisa Price and husband Dennis of Wild Cherry; six grandchildren:  Ricky E. Mellon, Jr.(Milly), Erica M. Holt Brandon (Chris), Ashley R. Mellon Olsen (Eric), Aaron JT Holt (Ashley), Toby E. Mellon (Victoria), Timmy Lee Stetka, III (Angel); seventeen great grandchildren:  Chandrak Holt, Loucius Holt, Kourtney Holt, Juliana Brandon, Ankyre Brandon, Gracie Mellon, Draydon Mellon, Myia Jade Olsen, Violet Stetka, Titus Mellon; six great great grandchildren: Myrna Mellon, Slaye Stetka, Rain Stetka, Fuel Stetka, Davie McBride, Alice McBride; nephew:  Steven Joseph Jared; great niece Francella Sue Jared and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents:  Euen and Ollie Lively Boatman; paternal grandparents:  Henry and Ester Collins Jared; one brother:  Charlie Jared; one sister:  Ollie Faye Jared; great grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, July 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Flat Rock Cemetery with Leon Morehead officiating. Arrangements by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
