Lelan Arlin Cox, Sr.
of Optimus, Arkansas

Lelan Arlin Cox, Sr., son of the late Frank and Ruby Teague Cox, was born September 29, 1943 in Culp, Arkansas. He departed this life January 13, 2022 at his home in Optimus, Arkansas at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 16 days. He was united in marriage to Joyce Nordrum August 10, 1962 and together they raised three children. Arlin spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. Most of his working years were spent as a truck driver.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Joyce Cox of the home; two sons and two daughters-in-law: Lelan Arlin Jr and Leigh Ann Cox of Optimus and Kevin and Janet Cox of Pineville; one daughter: Angela Teegarden and husband Jeff of Norfork; one brother: Fankie Cox and wife Sam of Culp; two sisters: Lois Wilson and husband Lyle of Culp and Sandra Dockins and husband Rick of Dolph; six grandchildren: Sammie (Logan) Holladay of Violet Hill, Jesse Cox of Pineville, Taylor (Brian) Sanders of Calico Rock, Lindsay (Cameron) Dwyer of Mountain Home, Jordan (Sabrina) Teegarden of Norfork, Coburn (Katie) Cox of Calico Rock; nine great grandchildren: Harlin, Raylin, Annalin, Gatlin, Nolin Holladay, Addisyn Teegarden, Layne Teegarden, Callan Sanders, Kaylin Sanders and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Joyce Ellen Acklin and one brother: James Harlin Cox.

Visitation will be Monday, January 17 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home. Burial will be at Optimus Cemetery.
