Obituary

Leaquita Ann Cox Richardson

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Leaquita Ann Cox Richardson, daughter of the late Leffell Robert Cox and Zela Jaunita Branscum Cox, was born August 9, 1951 in Culp, Arkansas.  She went on to be with Jesus, our Lord and Savior August 23, 2024 in Flippin, Arkansas at the age of 73.  She was united in marriage to Larry Keith Richardson, Sr. June 29, 1968 and together they raised three children. Leaquita spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend.  Most of her working years were spent at Calico Rock Community Medical Center housekeeping department, retiring after 24 years of employment.  She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Lone Rock Baptist church.

Mom's life was filled with hard work, struggles and so much love. She was the light that lit up the world around her. Anyone that knew her, knew Jesus and Love. If they didn't, she would quickly show them the love that Jesus expects each one of us to give.  God creates each one of us with our very own uniqueness. I truly believe He spends a little extra time on some very special people. He definitely took His time with her and ensured there was extra love and light in her soul.  I think God was thinking of her when this Bible verse was written:

1 Peter 3:4: "You should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God."

Mom emitted so much beauty and love to everything she did. Those around her not only could see it but felt it as well. She so loved all her family. She prayed for each one of us and carried our burdens with her. She wanted the very best for us and her one true desire was that each one of us to know Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

Even on the darkest of days, mom's love radiated like the sun. She didn't just love, she loved with all her heart and soul. I truly think God wanted Heaven to be filled with even more love and radiant light. That is why He came down and wrapped his arms around her and personally carried her to Heaven.  Mom, you are now in the arms of Jesus and there is no better place to be. Those of us that were special enough to call you family already inherited the very best this world has to offer.  Until we meet again in our Father's kingdom, just know that we are all better just to have known you.  Mom you were so loved, you are loved and you will be forever loved.  Say Hi to Dad, Aunt Pat, Granny and Grandpa for us.

Leaquita is survived by two sons:  Larry Keith Richardson, Jr. (Karla) of Culp, Shane Keith Richardson of Lonoke; one daughter:  Shawn Thorne of Lone Rock; one brother:  Bob Cox of Culp and one sister:  Marvell Linck of Flippin; seven grandchildren:  Keith Allen Richardson, Jessica Reeves (Ryan), Vanda Callahan, Shawna Callahan (Andrew Ivey), Rachael Richardson, Faith Richardson, Gabriel Richardson; seven great grandchildren:  River Reeves, Shyla Worley, Honey Worley, Alanna Worley, Kinsley Worley, Summer Callahan, Hazel Ivey and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two infant siblings:  Adam and Janice Cox; one sister:  Patsy Moody and three grandchildren:  Larry Jay Richardson, Baby Richardson and Joshua Shane Richardson.
