Larry Kenneth Hicks

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Larry Kenneth Hicks, son of the late Homer Hicks and Billie Opal Tracy Hicks, was born August 8, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri.  He departed this life February 8, 2024 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 74 years and 6 months.  He was united in marriage to Mary Francis Teague November 13, 1969 and together they raised a daughter.  Larry spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, provider, and friend.  Most of his working years were spent at Gibbs Diecasting in Henderson, Kentucky and Thermo Fisher Scientific in Mountain Home where he retired after many years of employment. Larry enjoyed taking trips with his family to the beach and Branson.  He loved his "little man" (grandson Bryson), dearly.  Blanchard Springs was one of his favorite local places to spend time.  He was of the Baptist faith.

Larry is survived by his wife of 54 years:  Mary Hicks of the home; one daughter:  Astina Hicks of Calico Rock; one brother:  Jerry Hicks and wife Marilyn of Mountain Home; one grandson:  Bryson Hicks of Calico Rock; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives.  He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son:  John Hicks and two siblings:  Danny Hicks and Mary Heiskill.

Visitation and funeral service will be Wednesday, February 14 at Eddie' s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.  Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Galatia Cemetery.
