Larry Thurl Dockins

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

Larry Thurl Dockins, son of the late Willie Lorne Dockins and Ora Lee Yancey Dockins, was born May 9, 1950 in Calico Rock, Arkansas.  He departed this life July 9, 2023 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 73 years and 2 months.  Larry spent his life as a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. Larry was a sawmill worker by trade, retiring after 40 years of work.

Larry is survived by four brothers:  Carry Dockins and wife Savannah of Oxford, Velman Dockins of Kansas City, Missouri, Bennie Dockins of Yakima, Washington, Norman Dockins and wife Dorothy of Independence, Missouri; three sisters:  Merle Allen of Blue Springs, Missouri, June Dickerson of Brockwell, Ann Hellums and husband Steve of Kansas; one half-brother:  Melvin Dockins of Kansas City, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister:  Marie Porterfield.

Celebration of life memorial service will be Monday, July 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
