Kedra Sugg
Of Calico Rock, Arkansas
Kedra Sugg passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2025. She was a gift to so many who were blessed to learn from her and be loved by her. Kedra was raised in a loving home in Buffalo, New York, and deeply loved her family there and in Canada. It was at the North Buffalo Church of Christ that she met her husband David, as her family sat in the pew behind each week. They were married in 1967 and moved to Dallas, where she grew to love Texas while hanging on to a habit of singing
O Canada on occasion. After a long career of teaching children in Texas to read and cook and be kind, Kedra spent her retirement years in Arkansas appreciating the incredible beauty of her surroundings, the amazing community of Calico Rock, and the opportunity to be creative in her work and service. Kedra took great joy from being a part of community life in Calico Rock. She and David served through 20/20 Club, Calico Rock Food Pantry, Calico Rock Church of Christ, and the Toys for Tots program, and she loved her time serving through the Hospital Auxiliary and with the Committee of One Hundred for the Ozark Folk Center. As much as she loved all of these things, it must be said that being with her granddaughters, and hearing about their adventures, might have been her favorite thing of all.
Kedra is survived by her husband of 58 years, David Sugg; along with two children: Matthew Sugg and wife Lyndi of Collierville, TN, and Kate Sugg Lareau and husband Chris of Memphis, TN; four granddaughters: Hadley Sugg, Emmrie Sugg, Meredith Lareau and Madeline Lareau; brothers-in-law: Paul Sugg and wife Judy of Calico Rock, and Stan and Beca Czech of Batesville. Nieces and nephews: Sarah Sieger of Madison, WI, Zachary Sugg of Phoenix, AZ, Andrea Czech of San Diego, CA, Jason Czech of Flagstaff, AZ, and a host of other relatives and many good friends in New York, Canada, and Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Daryl Czech.
There will be a graveside funeral service for the family only on Thursday, April 24, at 11:00 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery in Calico Rock under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home. All are welcome for visitation and lunch at 12:00pm at Calico Rock Church of Christ.
