Elloise Joyce Ferguson Hanson Keller
Of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas

Joyce, daughter of the late Chester Ferguson and Effie Pruett Ferguson, was born March 6, 1942
in Cordell, Oklahoma. She departed this life November 16, 2023 at her home in Mount Pleasant,
Arkansas at the age of 81. She was united in marriage to Larry K. Hanson December 19, 1958
and together they raised six children. Joyce spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife,
mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She filled many roles during
her working years including bookkeeping, sales, management, and teaching. Her favorite years
were spent giving back to young children in the Headstart program at Mt. Pleasant and Sunday
School where she was known as Miss Joyce. After the death of her loving husband in 2015, she
met Gary Keller. They were united in marriage December 16, 2017. Joyce was a member of
Cornerstone Baptist Church but also enjoyed attending Barren Fork Cumberland Presbyterian
Church with her husband.
She is survived by her husband of five years: Gary Keller of the home; two sons: Michael
Hanson and wife Debbie of Batesville, Andrew Hanson and wife Sara of LaPlat, New Mexico,
three daughters: Pam Corley and husband Paul of Farmington, New Mexico, Patricia DeYoung
of Springfield, Missouri, Penny Finley Littleton and husband Bobby of Mount Pleasant; one step
daughter: Deborah Moon and husband Kelley of Hattieville; twenty-four grandchildren:
Matthew, Michael, and Christopher Hanson, Tiffany Neal, Cameron, Clayton, and Chandler
Corley, Cheyanne Buchman, Anna Martin, Bret and Cory DeYoung, Ryan, Ethan, Gavin,
Ashton, Tristan, Maggie, Hayden, Christian, and Eliana Hanson, Joshua, Jeremiah, and
Christopher Moon; thirty-six great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host
of other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband
Larry Hanson; one son: Jeffrey Hanson; three sisters: Doris Lore, Alberta Chapell, Christine
Strecker. .
The family will be holding a Celebration of life service on Saturday December 9 from 10 till
noon and welcome all who want to join us.
