Johnnie Ray Smith, son of the late Robert Hanley Smith, Sr. and Dimple Hutchins Smith Tyree, was born June 10, 1952 in Searcy, Arkansas. He departed this life October 12, 2020 in Searcy, Arkansas at the age of 68 years, 4 months and 2 days. Johnnie was raised at Twin Creek, Arkansas and attended Melbourne School. He was united in marriage to Joyce Smith June 2, 1972 in Melbourne, Arkansas. John and Joyce owned and operated J & J Antiques and Stuff on the square in Mountain View, Arkansas for 21 years. John loved to buy and sell coins, jewelry, antiques and collectables. In the early 80's they owned and operated the Grapevine Restaurant in Franklin. John was a good Christian man and an active member of Twin Creek Church of Christ.

John is survived by his wife of 48 years: Joyce Smith of the home; three siblings: Alene Stevens or Rogers, Arkansas, Jim Smith of Fayetteville, Charles Smith (Sherry) of Melbourne; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: R. H. Smith; one sister: Jerri Haney; half-sister: Florine Knowles.

Visitation and funeral service will be Thursday, October 15 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be from 12 – 2 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 with Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial will be at Combs Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Mark Smith, Toby Smith, Rick Haney, Randy Haney, Kenny Morehead, Billy Haile.

Honorary Pallbearers: Ronnie Peterson, Kerby Smith, Keifer Smith, Brad Smith, Ben Smith, Dean Hutchins.
