John Frederick Burns, Jr.

Of Newburg, Arkansas

John Frederick Burns, Jr., son of the late John Frederick Burns, Sr. and Nora Spence Burns, was born July 24, 1941 in Nashville, Tennessee.  He departed this life November 23, 2025 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 84.  He was united in marriage to Shirley Mae Moore June 5, 1959 and together they raised four sons.  John spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend.  Most of his working years were spent as a commercial truck driver.  John was a member of Batesville's Seventh Day Adventist Church.

He is survived by two sons:  Pat Burns and wife Mandy of Newburg and Arden Burns and wife Kathy of Chattanooga, Tennessee; one sister:  Theresa Ragazino of Melbourne; six grandchildren:  Marjorie Elamae (Derrick) Green, John (Charlee) Burns, Elijiah Burns, Kristen Burns, Baxter Burns, Sawyer Burns; seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons:  Jesse Burns, Jimmy Burns; one daughter-in-law:  Karen Burns; two sisters:  Anita Hoffman and Emma Jacobs; and one brother:  Joe Burns.

The family will be having a graveside memorial service Sunday, December 28 at 2 p.m. at Kyler Cemetery in Batesville.
