Joe William McCormack

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Joe William McCormack, son of the late J. B. McCormack and Betty Jo Williamson McCormack, was born December 6, 1952 in Wynne, Arkansas.  He departed this life April 11, 2024 at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 5 days.  After high school, he attended college at the University of Central Arkansas. Throughout his life he was an avid outdoorsman and steward of the land.  Joe went on to work for Union Pacific Railroad, retiring as a conductor after 42 years of employment. After retirement from the railroad, he enjoyed raising cattle, working on his farm, and being a devoted Pepa to his grandchildren; Marley, Luke, and Heidi.  He was united in marriage to Sharon July 15, 1980 in North Little Rock, Arkansas and together they raised three children.  Joe spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, provider and friend.

Joe is survived by two daughters:  Sarah White and husband Zac of Heber Springs and Brandi Tucker and husband Aaron of Lanesville, Indiana; one son:  Joseph McCormack of Heber Springs; one brother:  John McCormack and wife Sylvia of West Plains, Missouri; one sister:  Kathy Schmelder and husband Bill of Omaha, Nebraska; three grandchildren: Marley White, Luke Tucker, Heidi Tucker; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 42 years:  Sharon Faye McCormack and one brother:  Steve McCormack.

Graveside funeral service will be Monday, April 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Staggs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.

Pallbearers: John McCormack, Bill Schmelder, Aaron Tucker, John Varnell, Shane Simmons, and Dave Henderson.
