Jimmie Ray Branscum

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Jimmie Ray Branscum, son of the late Albert Ernest Branscum and Beulah Bagwell Branscum, was born January 20, 1943 in Culp, Arkansas.  He departed this life May 29, 2024 at his home in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 81 years,4 months and 9 days.  He was united in marriage to Linda Genevieve Carter November 13, 1962 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and together they raised five children.  Jimmie spent his life as a loving son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. Jimmie was a farmer all of his life, raising cattle.

Jimmie is survived by his wife of 61 years:  Linda Branscum of the home; three sons:  Lenn Branscum and wife Loretta of Culp, Raymond Branscum and wife Misty of Pineville and Buster Branscum and wife Kary of Culp; one daughter:  Melissa Thomas and husband Greg of Mountain View; 14 grandchildren:  Heath (Tanya) Branscum, Marshall (Ashley) Branscum, Dalton (Kenzie) Branscum, Colton Branscum, Kevin (Caroline) Branscum, Andrew Branscum, Morgan Branscum, Laiken Branscum, Jesse Branscum, Kylie Branscum, Alisa Obletz, Whit Branscum, Ryker Branscum and Alex Branscum; nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends.   He was preceded in death by his parents; one son:  Leelenn Ray Branscum; seven brothers:  Bud, Carl, Arvey C, Harvey D, Leffel, Lewie, Buster Branscum and three sisters:  Zella Cox, Jarlene Chism and Mary Phifer.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 2 from 4-6 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Funeral service will be Monday, June 3 beginning at10:00 a.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock with Wade Moser officiating.  Burial will follow at Cooter Cemetery.
