Jessie Dewey "JD" Conrad

Jessie Dewey "JD" Conrad, son of the late Dewey Conrad and Annie Sinden Conrad, was born June 21, 1943 in Gorby, Arkansas. He departed this life December 20, 2019 at his home in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 29 days. He was united in marriage to Charlene Henderson December 1, 1967 and together they raised four children. JD proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam and Gulf Wars. After his discharge from the Army, he continued to serve in the National Guard. JD was a member of the Jones VFW Post in Melbourne. Most of his working years were spent at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in Melbourne. He retired after many years of employment. JD was of the Baptist faith.

JD is survived by his wife of 52 years: Charlene Conrad of the home; three sons and three daughters-in-law: Phillip and Chrystal Conrad of Mount Pleasant, Richard and Connie Conrad and Darrell and Crystal Conrad of Melbourne; one daughter and son-in-law: Patricia and Bill Williams of Zion; three sisters: Wanda Bozarth (Clay) of Berryville, Joyce Newberry of Melbourne, Mildred Davis (Gary) of Fayetteville; nine grandsons: Chris Conrad, Jessie Williams, Alex Conrad, John Phillip Conrad, Dustin Conrad, Caleb Conrad, Darrell Jay Conrad, Jr., Kyler Williams, Gabriel Williams; one granddaughter: Amber Conrad; three great granddaughters: Genevieve Conrad, Amelia Conrad, Sophie Conrad and a host of other relatives and many good friends. JD was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Benjamin Conrad, Ralph Conrad and Toly Hart; one sister: Erma Mickle and one grandson: Robert Conrad.

Visitation and graveside funeral service will be Monday, December 23. Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Graveside funeral service will be held at Jones Cemetery in Boswell at 11:00 a.m. with Rick Burke officiating.
