Jeffery Lynn McGowan, Sr.

Of Culp, Arkansas

Jeffery Lynn McGowan, Sr., son of the late Arville McGowan and Iva Wallace McGowan, was

born February 2, 1949 in Culp, Arkansas. He departed this life August 28, 2023 at his residence

in Culp, Arkansas at the age of 74 years, 6 months, and 26 days. He was united in marriage to

Jacqueline Sue Britt November 22, 1969 and together they raised three sons. Jeff spent his life as

a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend.

His working years were spent at Baxter Lab in Mountain Home, retiring after 34 years of

employment. His passion and love were for his family and the outdoors. Jeff was an avid

outdoorsman who shared his love of the outdoors with his entire family. His most prized

accomplishment was a marriage of almost 50 years. His pride was in his three sons, only to be

surpassed with the addition of his adored grandchildren. He was a member of the Acacia

Masonic Lodge 625.

Jeffery is survived by three sons: Jeffery Lynn McGowan, Jr. and wife Sandra of Calico Rock,

Scott McGowan of Calico Rock and Chad McGowan and wife Tyra of Norfork; one sister:

Carol Whitehead and husband Kenneth of Salesville; nine grandchildren: Miranda McGowan,

Josie McGowan, Pearl (Tristan) Hanna, Ivy (Colton) Lawless, Kyler McGowan, Caleb

McGowan, Cobey McGowan, Jackson McGowan, Nellie McGowan; three great grandchildren:

Shelby Croney, Joseph Kelly and Wylie Williams; and a host of other relatives and many good

friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four brothers: Carl, Jesse, Ernest,

and Paul McGowan; one sister: Katherine McGowan and two nephews: Randy Bench and Tom

Lester.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 31 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico

Rock. Graveside funeral service will be Friday, September 1 at 10:00 a.m. at Table Rock

Cemetery.
