Jared Thomas Moxley
Of Guion, Arkansas
Jared Thomas Moxley, son of the late Eret (Ed) Moxley and Ethel Marie Davis Moxley, was born January 10, 1944 in Batesville, Arkansas. He departed this life July 4, 2025 at Stone County Medical Center at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 20 days. He was united in marriage to Alice Rutledge March 22, 1968 in Batesville and together they raised three children. Jared graduated with a Master's Degree in Education Administration from Arkansas State University. He started his education career as a teacher then moved up to the Superintendent position and ended up retiring as the Director of the Educational Cooperative in Melbourne. Jared spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, uncle, father, grandfather, provider and friend. He enjoyed being outdoors and working on his land, he was a lifetime cattle farmer, an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Belview Baptist Church in Melbourne.
Jared is survived by his wife of 57 years: Alice Moxley of the home; two sons: Eret Moxley and wife Sharyn of Guion, Josh Moxley of Conway; one daughter: Lisa Moxley-Hancock of Melbourne; five grandchildren: Megan Branscum (Jacob), Ryan Moxley (Cara), Braeden Hancock (Kaitlyn), Alex Hancock (Hope), Kailee Hancock and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Janetta MacArthur.
Visitation and funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 9 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne, Arkansas. Visitaiton will begin at 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Combs Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Braeden Hancock, Alex Hancock, Ryan Moxley, Jacob Branscum, Brad Fulks, David Love.
Honorary Pallbearers: Sam Casey, Gerald Cooper, Doyle Love, Ronnie Davis, Gary Hutchins, Lane Denard.
