Janice Marie Schwean Sturm Hellums

Of Oxford, Arkansas

Janice Marie Schwean Strum Hellums, daughter of the late Charles Fredrick Schwean and Lillian Mavis Brattox Schwean, was born August 26, 1949 in Redfield, South Dakota.  She departed this life December 19, 2023 at her home in Oxford, Arkansas at the age of 74 years, 3 months and 23 days. She was united in marriage to James Lyndle Hellums December 23, 1967 and together they raised one son. Janice lived her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, homemaker and friend.  Most of her working years were spent at Banquet Foods, retiring after many years of employment.  She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son:  James William "Jimmy" Hellums and two brothers:  Robert Sturm and Richard Sturm.

Graveside funeral service will be Saturday, December 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Oxford with Dennis Gray officiating.  Funeral arrangements by:  Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
