Janetta McDonald Nichols

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Janetta McDonald Nichols, daughter of the late Marion Jackson McDonald and Lelah Mae Dyer McDonald, was born June 9, 1947 in Springhill, Louisiana.  She departed this life at her home in Calico Rock, Arkansas on October 2, 2022 at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 23 days.  She was united in marriage to Bobby G Nichols and together they raised three children.  Janetta spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, devoted Memaw and Nona, homemaker and friend.  Most of her working years were spent as a caregiver.  She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Calico Rock.

Janetta is survived by three children:  Leon Cheatham and wife Kathy of Calico Rock, Larry Cheatham and wife Shari of El Dorado and Misha Carr and husband Kenny of Magnolia; one brother:  Gary McDonald of El Dorado; sister-in-law:  Vicki McDonald of El Dorado; nine grandchildren:  Danielle (Wade) Magnuson, Whitney (Eric) McLauhlin, Brandon Cheatham, Tyler Cheatham, Ashley (Logan) Holzhauser, Kenny Carr, Jr (Brittany), Dillon (Gabby) Carr, Kaitlyn Carr, Karlie McNatt; eleven great grandchildren:  Trinity Adams, Jezekiah Adams, Addyson Adams, Josiah Adams, Lakynn Holzhauser, Brett James Holzhauzer, Dawson Carr, Keegan Carr, Brynlee Carr, Adalyn Carr and Aiden Carr and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband:  Bobby Gene Nichols and three brothers:  Marion Lee McDonald, Jackie D. McDonald and Jimmy Dale McDonald.

Visitation will be Friday, October 7 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.  Funeral service will be Saturday, October 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church with Andy Riley officiating.  Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
