James Edwin Swart

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

James Edwin Swart, son of the late Floyd Swart and Luclle Zielinski Swart, was boren August 13, 1948 in Portland, Oregon.  He departed this life March 5, 2021 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 20 days.  He spent his life as a loving son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend.  James spent his adult life living and working in Portland.  He worked many years in janitorial services.   James proudly served in the Portland Army National Guard.  In 2013 a friend suggested that he relocate to Melbourne, Arkansas.  After settling in Melbourne, he found comfort in small town life.

James is survived by one brother:  Jack Swart and wife Shirley of Portland, Oregon; one sister:  Linda Bennett and husband Ben of Myrtle Point, Oregon; his caregiver that he considered a daughter:  Sandy Burchett of Oxford; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister:  Patricia Wright.

At his request no memorial service is planned at this time.
