James Euin Shell
of Melbourne, Arkansas
James Euin Shell, son of the late Hill Shell and Pearline Melton Shell, was born September 6, 1934 in Bonetown, Arkansas. He departed this life October 9, 2025 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 91. He was united in marriage to Peggy Lou Hunt March 17, 1954 in Jumbo, Arkansas and together they raised two sons. In 1957, Jim enlisted in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged after two years of service. Jim spent his life as a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. Jim worked as a mechanic most of his life. He taught mechanics class at Ozarka Technical College for many years. He operated an auto mechanics shop in Melbourne. He was a boat mechanic at Henderson Marina and Quarry Marina for many years. He loved fishing on Lake Norfork. Jim was also an avid hunter. He was an active member of Melbourne Masonic Lodge for 50 years. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Dolph Baptist Church.
Jim is survived by one son: Jimmy Shell and wife Sandra of Flippin; one sister: Bobbie Pope of Tucson, Arizona; three grandchildren: Jason Shell of Melbourne, Jessica Hertz (Mike) of Southside, Kayla Johns (Llew) of Rogers; three great grandchildren: Westyn Shell, Tolley Fletcher, Lynley Strother; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son Joey Shell and six siblings: Denton Windell, Roy Dougie, Elvona and Anna Lou.
Visitation will be Monday, October 13 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Graveside funeral service will be Tuesday, October 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Combs Cemetery with Masonic honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hospice of the Ozarks, 811 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, Arkansas 72653.
