James Edward Sanders departed this world on August 9, 2026, St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 75. He was born February 12, 1951, to Vernard Edward and Dellar May (Gray) Sanders in Calico Rock, Arkansas. After his ninth-grade year he began working different skilled labor jobs until he joined the United State Army in 1971. He was stationed in Germany and chose the Transportation field and served as a 64C. He was awarded the Overseas Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Marksmanship Expert and Grenade Expert.

After his time in the military, James worked for Baxter Laboratory, where he met Deborah. He went on to become a Certified Master Electrician and a Certified /Heating and Thermal Unit Technician. He opened his business, SANDERS ELECTRICAL HEATING AND AIR HVAC and THERMAL UNITS in 1975. James served the Ozarks area for over 50 years. If you have ever ate at Golden Corral in Springfield, you can thank James for always ensuring their heating and air conditioners were working properly and repaired in a very timely manner!

He was united in marriage to the Love of His Life, Deborah Ann Batesal on November 10, 1973. They had two daughters: Elizabeth and Amy. James was a grandfather to five beautiful children. James was soon to be a great grandfather by his first granddaughter, Emily and her husband Logan Blomquist.

James and Deborah enjoyed traveling around the country together camping. They enjoyed riding horses and teaching their granddaughter to ride. James enjoyed farming, raising cattle, horses and breeding Britney Spaniels for hunting. Together, James and Deborah found happiness working and supporting each other.

Chances are, if you were a client of James, you were also a friend. James didn’t look at his business as a means of getting rich; he truly believed it was better he helped someone in need; a person suffering because they didn’t have the financial ability to pay for his services.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Deborah; his parents: Vernard and Dellar Sanders; siblings: Bobby Dale Sanders, Bobby Sue Sanders, Linda Mooney, Carla Sanders and brother-in-law: Jerry Owens.

He leaves to cherish his memory by his siblings: David (Patti) Sanders, Jimmy (Alisa) Sanders, Terry (April) Sanders, Gloria Owens, Brenda Bedwell, Sandra (Jimmy) Shell; daughters: Elizabeth (Jimmy) Geiger, Amy (Greg) Freeman; grandchildren: Emily (Logan), Grace, Avery, Evan, Bryce and Brooke.

James will be greatly missed by many friends and family who he helped endlessly.

His family will be holding a memorial service will be Monday, September 7 in Rogersville, Missouri at First Baptist Church beginning at 11:00 a.m.

A graveside memorial service will be held September 14 at Wayland Arbor Cemetery in Dolph, Arkansas beginning at 1:00 p.m.
