James Albert Frizzell, Jr.

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

James Albert Frizzell, Jr., son of the late James Albert Frizzell, Sr. and Thelma Jones Frizzell Hughes, was born October 28, 1944 in Batesville, Arkansas.  He departed this life January 18, 2021 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 21 days.   He was a 1962 graduate of Mississippi County High School in West Ridge, Arkansas. He went on to graduate from Arkansas State University with a teaching degree.  Jim taught high school science for 42 years, 41 of which were at Melbourne High School.  He was united in marriage to Joy Blankenship December 27, 1989 in Melbourne, Arkansas at Belview Baptist Church.

Jim is survived by his wife of 31 years:  Joy Blankenship Frizzell of the home; one sister:  Kathy Lindley of Fayetteville; one brother:  Mike Hughes and wife Kelly of Springdale; five nephews:  Phillip Lindley and wife Terri of Arlington, Texas, Dylan Hughes of Springdale, Chris Blankenship of Calamine, Chad Blankenship of Greenbrier and Keigan Cole of Hillsville, Virginia; two nieces:  Cynthia Blankenship of Batesville and Destiny Diaz of Katy, Texas and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather:  Verl Hughes.

Due to COVID 19, no memorial service is planned at this time.
