James Henry Francis, Jr

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

James Henry Francis, Jr., son of the late James Henry Francis, Sr. and Jane Fisher Francis, was born September 29, 1927 in Petty, Texas.  He departed this life December 4, 2022 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 95 years, 2 months and 5 days.  He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II.  During his life, he was united in marriage three times.  His first wife was Beulah Hicks; the second was Nancy Krampota and the third was named Norma Jean Martin.  James spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend.  During his working years, he was a barber, operating his shop in Alvin, Texas for 52 years before retiring.  He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by one son:  Dennis Francis of Alvin, Texas; five step-children:  Karen Kirsch, Linda Mudd, Cal Houston, Marian (Charlie) Thomas, Thomas Bass; sixteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers:  Loyd Francis, Floyd Francis, Choice Francis, Q B Francis, Rube Francis, Elvis Francis and two sisters:  Edith Maxwell and Essie Mae Manuel.

A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date in Alvin, Texas.
