James Charles ""California" Campbell

James Charles "California" Campbell was born December 23, 1954 in Tulsa Oklahoma.  He departed this life July 13, 2021 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 66 years, 6 months and 20 days.  He spent his life as a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, bonus Dad and friend.  He was a gifted artist, who loved music and the natural beauty of his preferred home state of Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife:  Virginia Quarry of Memphis, Tennessee; one daughter:  Nicole Brown; one sister:  Karen Campbell of Sage; two nieces:  Harmony Wood of Cabot and Jennifer Quearry of Melbourne; two nephews:  Travis McGraw of Mt. Pleasant and Cody Rush of Batesville; six great nephews, five great nieces, one great  great  niece, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his father:  Edward "Speedy" Campbell; his mother:  Normal Ruth Vest Campbell and an infant son: Jesse James Campbell.

His family and friends will gather from a Celebration of Life service for him July 24 at 2:00 p.m.     at the Luneburg Community Center.  He will have a memorial stone placed next to his parents at Combs Cemetery in Melbourne.
