Iva Lee Smithson McVay

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Iva Lee Smithson McVay, daughter of the late Hubert Smithson and Cumie Kytle Smithson, was born January 23, 1930 in Gorby, Arkansas.  She departed this life January 20, 2025 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 94 years, 11 months and 29 days.  Iva Lee spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. Most of her working years were spent as a homemaker, tending to her home and children, although she did work as a waitress and later as a CNA at White River Healthcare.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Iva Lee is survived by three children:  Helen Wilson, Phyllis Schaufler and Michael Jones all of Mountain Home; one brother:  David Smithson and wife Katherine of Brockwell; six grandchildren:  Jennifer Gill, Darrin Wilson (Crystal), Heath Jones, Hayley Warno (Mychal), Seth Jones, Maggie Palmer (Dalton); eight great grandchildren:  Ashton Foster (Zach), Mariah Gill, Kole Wilson (Julie), Tehya Wilson, Atlas Wilson, Jarrett Warno, Dacee Jones, Nolan Palmer; four great great grandchildren:  Aliyah Collins, Zooey Foster, Brandt Foster, Lainey Wages; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters:  Imogene Simpson, Marjorie Estes, Ida Beth Randall; one niece:  Mary Hardaway and one daughter-in-law:  Laura Jones.

Visitation and funeral service will be held Friday, January 24 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.   Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Leon Moorehead officiating.  Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
