Ina Clarine Jennings Ramsey

of Melbourne, Arkansas

Ina Clarine Jennings Ramsey, daughter of the late Talmage Jennings and Mary Ethyl Arnold Jennings, was born June 16, 1932, in Sage, Arkansas.  She departed this life on April 18, 2026, in Somerville, Tennessee, at the age of 93.  Ina was a graduate of Melbourne High School.  She was united in marriage to William Arthur "Dub" Ramsey on September 3, 1955, and together they raised two children.  Ina's professional career began in the Izard County Extension office in Melbourne at the Izard County Courthouse. Ina attended Arkansas State and worked for 23 years as an Executive Administrative Assistant at Ste. Genevieve High School in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri until she retired in 1993. Ina was an expert seamstress, cook, homemaker, prolific reader and writer, and enjoyed genealogy and travel.  She was a devoted wife of 50 years, mother, and grandmother.  She was a member of the Baptist faith and of Melbourne First Baptist Church.

Ina is survived by Dr. Risa Dawn Ramsey Ralph of Cordova, Tennessee, Arnold Jenings Ramsey of Cary, North Carolina; one sister:  Matra Jennings Hodge of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas; six grandchildren:  Lauren Ramsey of Tampa, Florida, Faith Ralph of Cordova, Tennessee, Brant Ramsey of Cary, North Carolina, Grace Ralph of Cordova, Tennessee, Trey Ramsey of Cary, North Carolina, Steve Ralph V of Cordova, Tennessee; numerous nieces and a nephew, and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one infant son, Brant Ramsey.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.  The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 25, at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Melbourne. Burial will be at Violet Hill Cemetery in Violet Hill, Arkansas.  Following the burial, a reception will be held at Melbourne First Baptist Church, beginning at approximately 2:30 p.m.
