Obituary

Imodean Webb was born in Sage Township, Arkansas, on April 9, 1931. Upon entering this world, she was greeted by her mother – "Addie" McGaha Phillips, her father – James Otis "J.O." Phillips, and her older sister of eight years – Evadean Phillips.

Raised by a homemaker and a cattle farmer, Imodean grew up in Stella, only a few miles from where she entered the world. She and her sister spent their childhood on the land that J.O. and Addie worked to establish and farm, a large portion of which still remains in the family today.

Imodean was a graduate of Mount Pleasant School, where she attended first through twelfth grade, graduating in 1949. Imodean took great pride in completing her high school education, an achievement that was not widely attained for a girl in the 1940s.

Shortly after completing her education, Imodean married her soulmate, Donald Hale Webb on July 5, 1950, which was the beginning of a union that withstood the test of time. In the early years of their marriage, Don and Imodean left Izard County and traveled, like so many others from the area, to the State of Washington to work in the apple orchards. While in Washington, they welcomed their first son, James "Garey" Webb and then, seven years later, they welcomed their second son, Marty Hale Webb. After seven more years and another cross-country move returning home to Mount Pleasant, AR, Don and Imodean welcomed their third and final son, Kelley Don Webb.

Imodean, like her mother, was most of all a homemaker. Whether in Washington, or Stella, it was known that Don and Imodean's home was open to all. Often feeding far more than her own family, Imodean prepared three meals a day for anyone who would sit at her table.

In addition to being a wife, homemaker, and mother of three, Imodean held multiple jobs outside of the home throughout the years. Imodean found her true home away from home when she returned to her alma-mater, Mount Pleasant School, where she worked for nearly two decades in the cafeteria, feeding thousands of children that passed through the school, including several of her grandchildren. After retiring from the cafeteria, still not quite ready to say goodbye to her beloved school, Imodean worked an additional five years as a foster grandparent, volunteering in the kindergarten and first grade classrooms.

After retiring for the final time at the age of seventy-six, Imodean spent her days, as long as her health would allow, in the home that she and Don had built decades prior. In this home she was a wife, a friend, a sister, an aunt, a mom, a mamaw, a grandma, a great-grandma, and a great-great grandma. Imodean loved her children dearly, but the love she had for her grandkids was unmatched. Imodean traveled thousands of miles chasing her grandchildren playing sports, whether it was basketball, baseball, softball, track and field, or any other activity they were involved in. Imodean was a fierce supporter of the people that she loved. She showed them what it meant to be a Christian, not necessarily in the words she said, but in the life that she lived and the way that she loved.

On April 30, 2026, in Melbourne, AR, at the age of 95 years and 21 days, surrounded by people that she loved, Imodean left this Earth and entered Heaven's Gates where she was greeted by so many that she had missed for so long. Those greeting her in Heaven most notably include her devoted husband of fifty-five years – Don Webb, her parents, J.O. and Addie Phillips, her sister, Evadean Phillips Sloan and husband Dayton, and two great grandsons Dennon Tra Webb, and Hayden Grant Webb.

Though the vast majority of her life was lived within just a few square miles of Izard County, the impact she had through those that she loved extends far beyond the borders of Stella.

Imodean is survived by her three sons: Garey Webb and wife Ilein, Marty Webb, Kelley Don Webb and wife Tiffany, all of Mount Pleasant, AR. Additionally, Imodean leaves behind ten grandchildren: Tra Webb and wife Randy, Autumn Johnson and husband Chad, Cami Powers and husband Erik, Seth Webb, Kyra Webb, Brad Webb, Zach Webb, Tyler Webb and wife Carly, Kiley Carter and husband Rhett, and a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
