Howard Wayne Lehman

Of Oxford, Arkansas

Howard Wayne Lehman, son of the late Trevor Lehman and Elizabeth Sumpter Lehman, was born February 4, 1929.  He departed this life November 15, 2023 at his home in Oxford, Arkansas at the age of 94 years, 9 months and 11 days.  He was united in marriage to Ruth Summary Heater in 1950 and together they raised their family.  Most of his working years, Howard worked as a hospital chaplain. He was a member of the Free Methodist Congress.   While living in Oxford, he attended Finley Creek Baptist Church.

Howard is survived by two grandchildren:  Alicia Knight of Oxford and Ame Vargas of Houston, Texas; six great grandchildren:  Christina Knight, Antonio Vargas VI, Andres Vargas, Adan Vargas Sam Hardwick, Steven James Knight; three great great grandchildren:  Gabriel Traylor, Jasmin Traylor and Axl Vargas; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter:  Bette Corwin; four siblings; and two sons:  Fred Lehman, Larry Lehman

The family will be holding a memorial service will be Sunday, November 26 at Finley Creek Baptist Church.
