Hearl Gene "Peanut" Helm

Of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas

Hearl Gene "Peanut" Helm, son of the late James Ezra Helm and Bessie M Cockrill Helm, was born April 11, 1935 in Melbourne, Arkansas. He departed this life January 27, 2021 at his home in Mount Pleasant, Arkansas at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 16 days.  Gene proudly served in the United States Army.  He was united in marriage to Glenna Faye Caraway May 31, 1963 and together they raised three children. Gene spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, uncle, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend.  He was the owner and operator of Helm Brother Farm Supply.   Later in life he farmed, raising cows.  He was of the Baptist faith and attended Mount Pleasant Southern Baptist Church.

Gene is survived by one son:  Phillip Helm of Mount Pleasant; one daughter and son-in-law:  Chrystal and Phillip Conrad of Mount Pleasant; one brother:  Don Helm and wife Inez of Batesville; six grandchildren:  Ashley Helm, Kevin Helm (Nikki), Dillon Helm, Skylar Franks, John Phillip Conrad and Caleb Conrad; four great grandchildren:  Kobe Bruyette, Riley Helm, Layla Helm and Liam Helm; brother and sister-in-law:  Ronnie and Sheila Caraway of Mount Pleasant and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter:  Jamie Sue Helm and two brothers:  David Helm and J.W. "Red" Helm.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 30 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.  Funeral service will be Sunday, January 31 at 2:00 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home.   Burial will be at Reeves Cemetery.
