Dr. Harry Charles Hunter, Jr.

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Dr. Harry Charles Hunter, Jr., son of the late Harry Charles Hunter, Sr. and Anna Mae Chapin Hunter, was born January 1, 1946 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  He departed this life February 22, 2024 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 21 days.  He was united in marriage to Rozetta Louise Lawson August 26, 1966 in Springfield, Missouri and together they raised two children.  Harry spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, uncle, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend.  Harry had a long career as a teacher and minister. He taught at Georgia State School for the Deaf and was the Dean of Men at Missouri School for the Deaf. He taught in the Laurel County public school system in London, Kentucky as a student interpreter. He taught high school history in Firth, Idaho and Round Mountain, Nevada. He has served as a minister in Missouri, Idaho, Nevada and most recently at New Life Assembly of God Church in Calico Rock for many years.

Harry is survived by his wife of 57 years:  Rozetta Louise Hunter of Calico Rock, Arkansas; one son: Harry Charles Hunter, III and wife Aylee of Great Falls, Montana; one daughter:  Caren Hunter Nolan and husband Robert of Louisville, Kentucky; seven grandchildren:  Blake (Lindsey) Hunter, Brody Tanner Nolan, Kaylona Marie (David) Brown, Braxton Charles (Zoe) Hunter, Kaitlyn Paige Hunter, Berit Alexandria Nolan and Bella Grace Nolan; one great granddaughter:  Haisley Jane Brown and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers: Benjamin Frank Hunter and Donald Jay Hunter; Roger L. Hunter; Lester C. Hunter; one sister:  Nancy Arlene McIntosh; one great granddaughter:  Wrenlee Wayne Hunter.

Visitation and funeral service will be Monday, March 4 at New Life Assembly of God Church in Calico Rock with Larry Moore officiating.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.  Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
