Harold D. Stroud

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

Harold D. Stroud, son of the late Rayburn Otis Stroud and Oveta J. Hall Stroud, was born September 11, 1944 in Yuma, Arizona. He departed this life April 19, 2023 at his home in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 8 days. Harold served in the United State Army during the Vietnam War, after his Honorable Discharge he returned home to Izard County. He was united in marriage to Shirley Harmon Stroud May 19, 2001. Harold spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, step father, grandfather, hard working provider and loyal friend. Most of his working years were spent at Boeing Aircraft in Melbourne, retiring after 30 plus years of employment. He was of the Baptist faith.

Harold is survived by his wife of 21 years: Shirley Stroud of the home; one son: Rusty Stroud and wife Tammy of Jonesboro; one daughter: Laney Stroud of Ozark, Missouri; four step children: Mark Walker and wife Kalley of Marmaduke and Jimmy Walker and wife Judy of LaCrosse; two step daughters: Eldenia Heath of Melbourne and Della Walker of Cherokee Village; 17 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; one sister-in-law: Jo Stroud of Batesville and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Larry Stroud, Keith Stroud, Kenneth "Buck" Stroud and one grandson: Jason Stroud.

Funeral service will be Monday, April 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne with Mark Walker officiating. Burial will be at Caney Spring Cemetery.
