Grayson Marshall Calloway
Of Clarkridge, Arkansas
Grayson Marshall Calloway, son of the late Arthur N. Calloway and Stella Gardner Calloway, was born September 19, 1926 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He departed this life September 4, 2024 at his home in Clarkridge, Arkansas at the age of 97 years, 11 months and16 days. Grayson proudly served in the United States Army, just after World War II during the occupation of Germany. He was united in marriage to Lulia Mae Cantrell September 14, 1952 and together they raised two sons. Grayson spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. Most of his working years were spent farming. He raised cattle and was a ranch foreman. He was also employed by the Arkansas Highway Department, retiring after ten years of employment. Grayson was of the Church of Christ faith and a long-time member of Clarkridge Church of Christ.
He is survived by two sons: Patrick Calloway and wife Betty of Norfork; and Joey Calloway of Charleston, South Carolina; two grandsons: Larry Calloway and Eric Calloway; two step granddaughters: Shelley Basham and Brandy Whitney; one great granddaughter: Sheryl Calloway; four step great grandchildren: Jaden Callahan, Aspen Vandewaye, Destiny Lunsford and Ashton Driggers and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers: Harold Calloway and Herbert Calloway; four sisters: Opal L. Calloway, Phyllis Calloway, Irene Darland, Lillian Welch and one daughter-in-law: Sylvia Calloway.
Visitation and funeral service will be Tuesday, September 10 from 1-2:00 p.m. at Clarkridge Church of Christ. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Lloyd Camp officiating. Burial will follow at Arkana Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
Pallbearers: Eric Calloway, Larry Calloway, Pat Calloway, Joey Calloway, Roger Darland and Gerald Farris.
Honorary Pallbearers: Eddie parks, Jimmy Bentley, Calvin Horn.
