Graden Troy Melton

Of Brockwell, Arkansas

Graden Troy Melton, son of the late Marvin Melton and Mozell Morehead Melton, was born February 3, 1936 in Brockwell, Arkansas.  He departed this life July 6, 2022 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 86 years, 5 months and 3 days.  Graden proudly served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1961. He was united in marriage to Louise Hellums in 1965 and together they raised two children.  Graden spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend.  During his working years, in addition to being a carpenter/construction worker, he also worked as a mechanic and minister.  Graden was of the Baptist faith and a member of Melbourne First Baptist Church.

He is survived by one son:  Roger Melton of Brockwell; one daughter:  Sandra Dayton and husband Harold of Bismarck; two brothers:  Jim Melton and wife Maedene of Selah, Washington and Lowell Melton and wife Peggy of Brockwell; one sister:  Marie Morris and husband Bob of Melbourne; five grandchildren:  Nicole Lemmon, Michael (Kaitlin) Lemmon, Christopher Dayton all of Bismarck, Daniel (Jessica) Boswell of Benton and Valerie (Eric) Sorrell of Bismarck; eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother:  Gale Melton; his wife of 56 years:  Louise Melton and one daughter-in-law:  Sharon Lane Melton.

Visitation will be Friday, July 8 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.  Funeral service will be Saturday, July 9 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne with Rick Burke officiating.  Burial will be at Combs Cemetery with military honors.

Pallbearers:  Ron Morris, Charley Melton, Eric Boswell, Eric Sorrell, Shawn Hellums, Michael Lemmon.
