Golden Reed Stowers

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Golden Reed Stowers, son of Teresa Yvonne Martin Harber and the late Dennis "Bub" Reed Stowers, was born July 5, 1979 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He departed this life September 6, 2023 at his home in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 44 years, 2 months and 1 day. He was a lifelong resident of Calico Rock. Golden spent his life as a loving son, grandson, brother, father, uncle, provider and friend. During his life, he worked a variety of jobs including heavy equipment operator and was employed by Ingram Barge; ultimately, he loved being home to work his family's farm. He enjoyed playing checkers with his Grams, spending summer days at Blue Deep Creek, and entertaining the kids at every family gathering. Golden was a Christian and had been saved.

Golden is survived by one son: Baxter Stowers of Norfork; two daughters: Kinley Stowers of Norfork and Scarlett Stowers of Calico Rock; his mother Teresa Harber of Calico Rock; two sisters: Tonya Thompson of Mountain View and Stephanie Cannon and husband Kelly of Cave City; five brothers: Patrick Thompson, III and wife Kristie, Roman Stowers and wife Kehea, Dennis Stowers, Jr., Bobby Stowers and Solar Stowers all of Calico Rock; his maternal grandmother: Betty Lou Martin of Calico Rock; two uncles: Kent Martin and wife Oleta of Calico Rock and Carrol Stowers and wife Linda of Kansas City, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews including: Lea Killian, Keira Stowers, Sunday Grace Cannon and Jessi Lou Stowers; nephews: Dylan Woody, Clayton Thompson, Walker and Lawson Cannon and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his father; his maternal grandfather: Glen Martin; paternal grandparents: Fred and Mabel Stowers and his stepfather: Ronnie Harber.

Visitation will be Monday, September 11 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Graveside funeral service will be Tuesday, September 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Rorie Cemetery with Bobby Sanders officiating.

Pallbearers: Baxter Stowers, Dennis Stowers, Jr., Patrick Thompson, III, Roman Stowers, Kelly Cannon and Lawson Cannon.

Honorary Pallbearers: Terry Branscum, Clayton Branscum, Doug Simpson, Billy Bob Franks, Kent Martin and Brandon Martin.
