Of Harrison, Arkansas
Glenn Dell Sheffield, daughter of the late James M. Sheffield and Alleyne Engles Sheffield, was born July 1, 1940 in Guion, Arkansas. She departed this life August 20, 2023 in Harrison, Arkansas at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 19 days. Glenn spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, homemaker and friend. She raised one daughter, Lesa Brown of Harrison. Being a single mom and Lesa, an only child they had a solid bond. Lesa not only her daughter and friend but was her caretaker the last few years. Her working years were spent at White River Shirt Company in Melbourne, Unifirst in Cave City and North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison. She most likely would still be working today if her health had allowed her to, as she was a hard worker all of her life. She loved her flowers, funnel cakes and Freddys hamburgers. She was of the Church of Christ faith and a member of Melbourne Church of Christ and later in Harrison.
Glenn was preceded in death by her parents; one sister: Barbara Carlisle of Bonita Springs, Florida and one brother: Boyce Sheffield of Melbourne. She is survived by her daughter Lesa; one sister: Nancy Richardson; one sister-in-law: Linda Sheffield both of Melbourne; three nieces: Jocelyn Walker of Calico Rock, Jennifer Wisinger and husband Timmy of Beebe and Lori Nelson and husband Ben of Bonita Springs, Florida; two nephews: James Coan and wife Jennifer of Melbourne and David Carlisle and Margaret of Tampa, Florida; great nephews: Kaleb Walker and Karter Waker of Calico Rock; a host of other relatives and many good friends.
Funeral service will be Friday, September 1 at 1:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Gerald Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Lunenburg Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
